Blackburn Rovers centre back Dominic Hyam has said that the Rovers squad are ‘champing at the bit’ to get back to winning.
Rovers are looking to bounce back from defeat just before the international break after losing 3-0 at Plymouth. They host strugglers Middlesbrough on Saturday afternoon, who are lead by former Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick.
Hyam has said that the squad are eager to get back to winning ways on Saturday after not playing last weekend due to the international break.
“It’s always frustrating to leave the last game on a loss, but we’re all champing at the bit to get back to our normal routine and another game of football,” the 27-year-old centre-back told Rovers’ club website.
“The performances have been good so far this season, which the manager’s been particularly impressed by.

Hyam delved into the performances, with them being too ‘up and down’, but still saying the performances have been good.
“The results have been too up and down for our liking, but we’ve earned some good wins and showed our character as well, especially against Rotherham, coming from 2-0 down to get a vital point.
“It’s been up and down but there have been some good performances on the whole. Inconsistencies creep in when you’re a younger team, but we’ve shown quite a lot of consistency performance-wise.
“We need to keep on improving on that and I hope the results will come. It’s cliché, but results normally take care of themselves when the performances are good.
“The gaffer’s pretty hard on us that if we play well, we’ll have a good chance of getting results.”
