Blackburn manager Jon Dahl Tomasson said he was ‘extremely disappointed’ after his side failed to convert any of the chances they created in their 3-0 defeat to Plymouth on Saturday afternoon.
Goals from Finn Azaz, Ryan Hardie and Luke Cundle secured Plymouth all three points, but Tomasson pointed out the first goal as being the most important.
“We all know how important the first goal is,” Tomasson told the Lancashire Telegraph. “We had good chances to score it and they got it out of a deflection.
“Of course, I am extremely disappointed with this result and I don’t think it was a fair scoreline if you look at the game. Until the 75th minute I was thinking, ‘How is it possible that we are not leading this game?’
“We played some great football but at the end of the day, it is about putting the ball in the goal. We had some good opportunities to do that.
“We know how difficult it can be to come here. I think they won 20 out of 23 games last season so it is a good record.”

Tomasson was extremely disappointed with the failure to make any of the chances his side created count. Blackburn ended the game with 20 shots, especially after their 8-0 win at Harrogate in the EFL Cup midweek.
“To create that many opportunities in the final third was good, but of course we are extremely disappointed.
“When you have so many fans travelling down to Plymouth, it is disappointing we couldn’t give them the three points.”
“If you look at football in general, there is a reason why good goalscorers cost a lot of money. We see that every week in the Premier League.
“We should be disappointed not to get something out of this game, and it sounds crazy saying that after losing 3-0.”
“The first goal was extremely unlucky, it was a deflection,” the Rovers boss continued. “We had Trav’s deflection and it hit the bar.
“It was one of those games, and of course the third goal was a mistake. But it is football and those mistakes happen.”
