Blackburn Rovers endured a frustrating end to the January transfer window.
The collapse of a move to sign striker Duncan McGuire, after a late submission of certain paperwork, meant the Ewood Park club missed out on what would have been a key addition to their squad.
While the window is now closed, clubs do of course have the option of bringing in players who are currently free agents.
That it seems, is something that Blackburn Rovers could potentially now look to do, to add another young prospect to their options at Ewood Park.
Adam Berry on the radar of Blackburn Rovers
According to a report from Football Transfers, Blackburn Rovers are now interested in signing Adam Berry.
The 17-year-old is a left-winger, who came through the academy ranks at Manchester United. The teenager made his debut for the Red Devils’ Under 18s side by the age of 15.
He also made five appearances for the Old Trafford side at that level this season, before leaving them recently in search of more regular game time.
Berry has also been capped by England at both Under 16s and Under 17s level in the past.
That has apparently attracted the attention of Blackburn Rovers, although it seems they are not alone with their interest in signing Berry.
The winger is said to be on trial with Nottingham Forest, who currently sit 16th in the Premier League tbale. Meanwhile, another English top-flight club, Sheffield United are also credit with an interest in the teenager.
Scottish champions Celtic are another team who are said to be showing an interest in a deal to recruit the teenager.
Young winger could be an exciting addition at Ewood Park
The signing of Berry could be a useful addition for Blackburn Rovers if they are able to complete it.
With the winger making rapid progress through the ranks at youth level with Manchester United and England, it is clear he possesses a great deal of potential.
That is further backed up by the level of those clubs who are showing an interest in the recruitment of Berry.
Of course, the opportunities they may be able to offer him, mean it may be harder for Blackburn Rovers to convince the winger to make the move to Ewood Park.
However, their may be a suggestion that their proven record of developing young talent, and the chance of first-team football at an earlier point, could sway things in the favour of the Championship club.
Indeed, that record with young talent at Ewood Park, means that Berry could fit in well if he did decide to join Blackburn Rovers.
