The international fixtures 8 Blackburn Rovers players could feature in this month

Blackburn Rovers will certainly be glad of the March international break.

Last week was the first time since John Eustace was appointed head coach that the club did not have a midweek fixture to deal with.

This therefore, gives a number of their squad some wlecome time to rest and recover, before working on the training pitch with the 44-year-old.

However, there some who will not be around at Ewood Park to take part in that, as they link up with their national teams.

There are eight Blackburn Rovers players who have been called up by their countries for the March break.

We’ve taken a look at the fixtures they could be involved in, right here.

Sam Szmodics Ireland schedule

Sam Szmodics will be looking to cap an excellent individual campaign, that has seen him attract attention from elsewhere, with his first caps for Ireland.

The Blackburn Rovers top scorer has been named in interim Ireland manager John O’Shea’s squad for games with Belgium and Switzerland.

Arnor Sigurdsson Iceland schedule

Winger Arnor Sigurdsson will be looking to help Iceland secure qualification for Euro 2024 this month.

They are due to face Israel in a play-off semi-final. If they win that, they will face off against either Ukraine or Bosnia and Herzegovina for a place in Germany this summer.

Yasin Ayari Sweden schedule

Blackburn Rovers’ on-loan Brighton midfielder Yasin Ayari has also been called up for Sweden.

While he has previously been capped at senior international, the 20-year-old will feature for his nation’s Under 21s team this month.

Zak Gilsenan, Connor O’Riordan, Andrew Moran Ireland schedule

Blackburn Rovers also have a trio of players in Ireland’s Under 21 squad this month.

Academy product Zak Gilsenan, January signing Connor O’Riordam and Brighton loanee Andrew Moran could all feature in their latest Euro Under 21 qualifier.

Rory Finneran Ireland schedule

There will also be representation for Blackburn Rovers in Ireland’s Under 17s squad this month.

The club’s youngest first-team ever player, Rory Finneran, is set to feature in three matches played in Portugal over the course of a week.

Lenni Cirino Montserrat schedule

One of the more interesting call-ups during the international break involves Lenni Cirino.

The Blackburn Rovers academy left-back has been called up to the Montserrat senior squad – which is currently managed by Lee Bowyer – for the first time for two matches with Antigua and Barbuda.
