Blackburn Rovers manager Jon Dahl Tomasson said that it was ‘crazy’ Rovers came away with nothing after their 3-1 defeat at home to Sunderland on Wednesday night.
Jack Clarke opened the scoring for the Black Cats in the 28th minute through a penalty, before Harry Leonard scored his second of the season to draw level.
Dan Neil the scored at the end of the first half to double Sunderland’s lead, before Clarke added at third in the 78th minute to see his side home to three points.
Tomasson was very disappointed with the loss, which now makes it two losses in the last three.
“We are very disappointed with the result,” he told the Lancashire Telegraph. “When you look at the chances we created, we should have scored three, four goals.
“Also, the way we created them and the amount of big chances, we should have been out of sight. We played some excellent football and we gave away unnecessary goals.
“When you are chasing the game, the second half is always more open. The penalty we conceded, it was the first time they were in our 18-yard box. The corner just before half-time.”

Tomasson was happy with the second half performance, praising the dominance of his side.
“We started well second half, dominant again, created chances again. When you consider those amount of moments, it’s crazy we didn’t get a result today.
“You credit the opponent but if you look at how big the chances are, we have to be clinical. You have to create chances, the right type of chances and the ones we created were very big.
“We can’t give away goals like we did but we should have been out of sight after 13 minutes. Credit for creating them but we have to be more clinical.”
