Blackburn Rovers still have work to do in the Championship this season.
With 13 games of the campaign to go, the Ewood Park club are currently 16th in the Championship table.
They are six points clear of the relegation zone, ahead of Saturday afternoon’s clash at home against Norwich City.
That situation means they can by no means consider their place in the Championship for next season guaranteed at this time.
But despite that, it seems Blackburn Rovers are already identifying potential targets for the summer transfer window.
Will Fish attracting transfer interest
According to a report from HITC, Blackburn Rovers are showing an interest in Manchester United centre back Will Fish.
The 21-year-old has previously made one senior appearance for the Red Devils, after coming through their academy ranks.
After a brief period on loan at Stockport County, he has spent much of the last two seasons on loan with Hibernian.
During that time, Fish has scored four goals and provided two assists in 56 appearances in all competitions for the Scottish Premiership club.
As well as Blackburn Rovers, a number of other English clubs are keen on the defender. Fellow Championship sides Ipswich Town, Middlesbrough, Hull City, Sunderland and Stoke City are all thought to be tracking his progress.
Sheffield United, who sit bottom of the Premier League, are also credited with an interest. Hibernian would apparently like to bring Fish back to Easter Road in the summer. They could struggle to do that though, given the interest in him from England.
Will Fish could be a good Blackburn Rovers signing
Bringing Fish to Ewood Park could potentially be a smart move for Blackburn Rovers.
As things stand, Kyle McFadzean and Billy Koumetio’s deals at Ewood Park are both due to come to an end in the summer.
That could leave the club shorter on options in the centre of defence than they want to be. Bringing in Fish would help them to remedy that.
At 21-years-old, he could also be a long-term option for Blackburn Rovers. However, he does also have some useful experience to bring from his time in the top-flight of Scottish football.
His upbringing at a club such as Manchester United, and the level of interest he is attracting, also suggest he has plenty to offer in terms of ability to.
With all that in mind, this is one deal that could be worth trying to get done for Blackburn Rovers.
